Centuria Founder and CEO has been appointed to the Board of Directors for the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE). NFTE’s mission is to provide programs that inspire young people from low-income communities to stay in school, to recognize business opportunities and to plan for successful futures.
“I had an incredibly troubled childhood and youth and found myself in a lot of trouble as a teenager,” commented Burke. “When I go into classrooms, I tell kids my story in all its unflatteringly glory and they know that I get ‘it.’ It has been so rewarding to work with these students and I am thrilled to take my involvement with NFTE to the next level as a board member.”
Through a number of programs, NFTE works with educators in high-need schools to re-engage students in learning, introduce them to business concepts, and open up their possibilities for the future.
